Death of a King: Michael Jackson

Tis a sad time for yesterday, not only did we lose an actress, Farrah Fawcett, but we lost a king. The king of pop known as Michael Jackson passed away yesterday due to cardiac arrest. Fans worldwide are in morning and music channels have been playing all of his music.

If I need to do any background on this gentleman, then I want to know where you have been for the last 40 years(assuming you were born). It is a shame that some will hold onto recent events in the past 10 years rather than look at his career and what he had done musically.

I remember many of his songs, and recall watching many of his videos, he changed MTV whereas before they would not play black musicians, and he forced them to as his music was so popular, which made way for YO! MTV Raps, and eventually to what we know today. Many pop and rap stars owe him thanks to that.

Someone at work does not think his funeral will be bigger than Elvis's, and that people will not make a big deal of it. However, I know that the fans from around the world will want to be there. His funeral, assuming it will be opened to the public, will be large with many fans from around the world mourning him and wishing his body farewell from this world.

While there are speculations as to the cause of his death already, and some people think it is all a fake to get out of debt or whatever, there are always those out there. Ignore them and celebrate what he had done in his life.
