Carnival Games: Mini Golf for Wii

I recently played this game over the holidays with my family and friends and had fun with it. Using the Wii remote as a golf club, we putt putted to our hearts content. Getting started was easy, first you had to create your character using different faces and skin tones to customize it, then you dress it from many different things currently available with it. Many of the things were locked and you had to unlock them as you went through out the game. The way to unlock the different items was to collect coins on the courses you played and collect puzzle pieces for making the holes in par or under. There are two different types of coins you can get, the main coins are in place through out the couses, and are theme specific, which means you cannot use coins you got in Fairytella holes for items from the Barnyard holes. There are also what I like to call, Barker coins, these coins you get if you play Barker and win against him, sorry nothing for ties. The courses were fun, in classic mini golf style holes with dangers and tricks to getting a hole in one. In almost every theme(at least that I could find!!) there was a secret passage way, that when completing the mini game to the fullest you would get a whole in one on that hole. For example, in a hole in the Wild West theme there is a place where you hit the ball down a mine shaft, from there you used your Wii remote to aim and shoot ghosts as your ball rolled in a cart down a mine shaft. You first start off with 3 courses available, The Barnyard, a country themed course, Prehistoria, a dinosaur themed course, and Fairytella, a fairy tale themed course. These are labeled as the easy courses, and playing them unlocks the medium courses and playing the medium courses unlocks the hard courses. The medium courses consits of the Pirates Delight, Kings Court, and Wild west themes, while the hard courses have Spook-o-Rama, Rah's Revenge, and Amazeon themes. I really enjoyed playing this game, and unlocking the next item, and collecting the puzzle peices to get teh different themed golf clubs. The only thing I did not like about this game, which happens to be my biggist complaint with a lot of Wii games, is that there is no online play, because once you get all the items and unlock everything, what else is there to do but play to have fun, and for me it is never fun to play by yourself. Overall I give the game a thumbs up for funability.
